    5. Does the Federal Government Issue Grants to Start a New Business? - Top

One of the misconceptions that most new business owners have is thinking that the government issues grants for starting a new business. The government does issue grants to fund certain programs, education and research initiatives. They don't give grants for "business start up". If they did every new startup business in America could have free money to start a business.

One reason people get confused about federal grants is because there is a form of the government called the Small Business Administration or SBA. This section of the government is designed to assist those wanting to start or expand a business. The Small Business Administration has NEVER given free grants for business startup.
